Sudden Fiction Ten



She looked at her reflection in the left back seat car window. She bared her teeth. She exposed her braces.

She felt like a cyborg. She felt like she'd been given an artificial semi-permanent sneer.

Maybe, she now thought, maybe she didn't want straight teeth so much after all. Maybe the crookedness of her teeth gave her character. Maybe it's not wise to bend the direction of one's teeth in one's skull.

She made a kissy face at her reflection. She stuck her tongue out at herself. She thought about politics, Hell and her golden retriever for the rest of the trip.
