THE GREAT GADFLY:

Sudden Fiction Seven

The beautiful woman stared at herself in the bathroom mirror, frowning. Her friends and family sat in her living room, down the hall, watching the latest episode of the reality television series which in which she had participated last summer.

She felt sad. She felt desperate. She felt ashamed. Actually, she only felt sad, but she remembers the desperation and shame that she thought would come when she was filming the show. It never came. Only emptiness.

Her younger brother gallumphed to the open doorway of the bathroom with all the grace of a bull eating cotton candy. He said, "oh my God, they just showed the hot tub scene and they totally forgot to pixillate your left areola." He laughed and gallumphed off.

She broke into waves of uncontrollable weeping. When she finally calmed down, she could hear the chirpy voice of Carrot Top, asking her to dial down the middle.
